5 Ways to Unwind

2020 took everything we knew about having a basic routine and our understanding of “normal life” and flipped it upside down.

Needless to say, the past year brought us a deeper understanding of self, togetherness, while being distanced, and if you watch enough Youtube tutorials, you too can become an overnight hair stylist.

Many of us are still working from home and it can still be challenging. The excitement of working from home can definitely lose its luster after a year…

So what's there to do?

If you think you’ve made all the banana bread you possibly could, keep reading for some fresh, new ways we like to unwind after a busy work day.

Play a word puzzle game

We especially love this one for midday pick-me-ups. It’s been proven that if you work on something creative, but not related to the task at hand, it helps your mind expand its creativity tunnel past what you are working on and can later help you see things in a new light.

Listen to a podcast

We know, we know, everyone recommends this, but it's extremely helpful if you are trying to keep to a schedule. BC (Before Covid) our commute from the office was our sacred “me time”. Whether that meant jamming out to our favorite songs in the car, catching up with a friend on the phone, or listening to the latest episode of a podcast.

Remember to keep things that were important to you back then a priority for yourself now.

Organize your space

This can either sound like a dream or a nightmare depending on who you are. Less clutter is symbolic to other areas in your life. We are always trying to cleanse ourselves of things that no longer serve us to allow more love and attention to the things that bring meaning and purpose to our lives. This allows for a clear vision and path for yourself.

Take a walk

A little movement is so healthy for your body and mind! Breathe in the fresh air and take a walk around your neighborhood when you are feeling restless.

Add a lil spice

Sometimes a little retail therapy solves all of our problems. Okay we are being a bit dramatic, but it really can help!

Treat yourself to something new and shiny because you deserve it most! Try a new pair of lashes to brighten your eyes and take your confidence through the roof.
